With all the misery caused by the trafficking of illegal drugs smuggled into this country, primarily through Mexico, we'd like to highlight the continuing positive developments from a significant local victory in that struggle. A Puerto Rican national became the 13th out of 18 defendants to be sentenced in what federal officials have described as a 'wide-ranging' fentanyl and cocaine drug ring in the Fitchburg area. Earlier in September, a Fitchburg man was sentenced for his role in that same drug-trafficking operation.
