Worcester County's homeless population has jumped 45% since last year and local providers are pointing to Worcester's lack of affordable housing as one of the reasons for the rise.The Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance reported 690 homeless adults, both sheltered and unsheltered, in Worcester County in March of this year in a presentation to the State Legislature in June. At the same time last year, Worcester County had 475 homeless adults, according to CMHA data.The county is experiencing an all-time high for individuals experiencing homelessness, according to CMHA Chief Executive Officer Leah Bradley.
