ASHBY — Marion Rice was an entrepreneur, a creative artist, an educator, a performer and a visionary — a lover of all things dance — and a pioneer in the new field of modern dance. 'She was serious about sharing the power and beauty of dance by having her work not only performed but saved through the art of photography,' said her granddaughter Rebecca Rice. On Saturday, Oct. 29, from noon until 2 p.m., the community is welcome to an opening reception to see the beauty of her dance at the Marion Rice Dance Legacy Project Photography Exhibit, which will be on display at the Gallery of Art at the Ashby Free Public Library, 812 Main St.
