Courtesy of the National Weather Service. Monday is expected to be the literal calm before a major storm system enters New England's skies, bringing intense winds, rain and possibly as much as 18 inches of snow. After a dry, cloudy start in the mid-30s to low 40s, a 'high impact, long duration, multi-faceted' storm will hit Monday night after 6 p.m. and carry on into Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service said. The storm is expected to start with rain at the onset for most areas except the higher elevations before becoming wet snow.
