FITCHBURG — As the Massachusetts Joint Committee on Ways and Means convened in the Legislative Building Tuesday, the second leg of a six-part trek around the state, state Sen. John Cronin sensed opportunity. 'An important conversation,' the meeting was part of the Committee's continued effort to craft the state's budget for fiscal 2024. But Cronin said that their time in the city represented something far greater: an invaluable experience for themselves and an 'incredible opportunity' for the entire North Central region.
